i plan on doing this i have the cams already, just kinda waitin on gettin my ssac put on.. i dont wanna run them with the crappy ol hot shot i have..

its seems like the concensus is you dont need springs and retainers as long as your not reving past 10k.

now thats really high, 10k that is ! thats good to know ! ive heard a few people say this but not as many as in this thread.

I tell all my guys 8500 to keep it nice and safe on stock springs and retainers with N1 cams

I finally got to hear that noise today without it breaking up. Damn distributor. I plan on S&R's for this season but the stockers proved themselves for thousands of miles with N1 cams.

its not how high you can rev, but how long the motor lasts.
I have springs (no retainers) in mine as a safety measure, cheap investment for piece of mind.
