16 motor and pans with 20 oil pump
Hey anyone running the 16 pans with the 20 oil pickup?

Can the 20 lower baffle be used with the 16 upper pan?

the 16 counter weights and throw is shorter than any 20ve

because of this the 16ve oil pump can't be used with a 20ve and you can't use the full 16ve baffle on a 20ve

you need a 20ve pan, baffle and oil pick up

Are you sure?
Whenever I call Nissan Motorsports to order oil pumps, the part # 13500-1N501
references the same pump for the 16v/N1/20ve.

I believe the later 16VE has a different part #.

a SR16VE oil pump can be used with a SR20VE crank.

You do not need to run a SR20VE oil pan. Plenty of motors have been built with SR16VE oil pans. Just take out the upper baffle.

The upper baffle can be used you will need to do a little shaving to the aluminum oil pan, and to the stands for the baffle.

I guess I'm looking more at using the 16 lower baffle with the 20 pump.. it does hit it a little bit, but if you were to open up the cut out for the pick up by like a 1/4 in looks like it will fit fine. Just wondering if any of you guys have done that

you must use the lower baffle 100%, that stops the oil from sloshing around in corners. There is no upper baffle in a SR20VE, just in the SR16VE.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying if you cut or grind like a quarter inch into the side of the 16 baffle it loks like it would clear the pickup

What I'm saying is still use the baffle of course, but where the opening is for the pickup, it hits the 20 pickup, so I'm thinking about just grinding a little bit to make opening a little bigger and clear the oil pick up tube. lol

Or, what about just using the 20 lower baffle so it will clear the 20 pump?

the 20VE lower baffel does not fit on the upper 16VE oil pan and does not fit in the lower oil pan
