Cam Gears + SR20ve + SR16ve Cams?
Hey guys I know there is a similar thread here on this but a few slightly different questions:

1. How much more hp is expected from using cam gears to dial sr16ve cams in sr20ve motor? If so why?

2. Isn't the sr16ve cams stock cams and would already been dialed in by Nissan?

3. Does the sr16ve cams in the 20ve same as sr16 cams in sr16ve motor? Why I asked is that I am not sure it would make sense to dial in sr16ve cams in a sr16ve motor.

4. Is the sr16ve stock cam gears the same as the sr20ve stock cam gears?

Mods: chipped ecu, i/h/e

Thanks

Peace

The cams are designed for a 1.6 liter motor... so cam gears can help adj them to work better on a 2.0. Although I have had great results just dropping these cams in straight up no cam gears.

Thanks Cory. Can always rely on you for decent responses.

That's what i was thinking that they were designed for the 16ve motor so should see results by just dropping in. Bigger cams. I think I have seen some gains. But would the cam gears extract much more?

In hind sight my questions looked silly as once you go bigger cams then cam gears should be able to allow you some gains

But let's have some more views on the matter...

Peace

Yes you will get bigger gains by adjusting cam timing. 16ve and 20ve gears are the same.

All depends on if its worth it to spend all the time tuning the cam gears... I know I gained like 9whp just running then straight up. And I didn't think it was woth it to tune the gears...
