Well I guess its not like you would need to rev much over that, the N1 cams I'm assuming drop off before then...time to go look at some dyno graphs...

Thanks for the link, much appreciated.

Yep, exactly my thoughts. I always tend to stay on the conservative side regarding rev limits (my VE with stock cams & springs has the JWT 7200 RPM rev limit). Then again, I use the car for lapping and time trials, not for drag racing. Overrevving once or twice in a drag heat vs about 100 times in a 20-minute lapping session can sure make a difference.

N1s with an 8200 RPM rev cut does look appealing, though. Let me know what comes out of your dyno graph investigations.

Ppl that have been using N1 cams have made power till rev limit. Highest I saw was 8k. Look at some graphs. You'll notice when their rev limit hits the power is still going up.

Hmm, interesting news (news to me anyway).

I'll dig around to try and see.

Well I found some interesting things after looking briefly on the old forum.

This thread is pretty sick, courtesy CoryB.

It looks like allot of the power up top is dependant upon the header:

However, Cory did swap out for some new springs and retainers when he dynod the N1's with his new 4-1 header. That said, I haven't found a ssac 2.5 dyno that has revved to 10k yet. It looks like the ssac runs out around 7.3kish...

Those N1's made peak power around 8k, and held well past 9k:

I'll be dynoing this Saturday with my setup and I'll report what I get:

20VE
N1s
CS Gears +5/-5
GSpec Pulley
Fidanza Flywheel
BC Springs
SSAC
Calum
4 Bar
3" Exhaust
Outlaw Spacers
3" CAI
DE TB
DE MAF

I'll probably let 'er spin to 8500 and see what I get.

Stay tuned (so to speak)...

i have the exact same setup as you and last dyno(just checking a/f for safety) my car made 194hp at 7000rpm and was sharply climbing. im guessing if you rev it up to 8200 you should see about 210whp.

and to sunnyboi, why do you need 9k revability? you must have a pretty hardcore motor and be tracking that car all the time to need sustained 9k. i have revved my motor with N1 cams to 9k safely but there is really no reason to go over 8k and stock springs and retainers are safe all day long at 8k. without custom intake and header power and torque start to drop right at 8k. look at any ve dyno graphs.

Awesome Shig, cannot wait, please let us know! Only 20days till i get to throw in my N1's!

So not to get us off subject, but would anyone have a suggestion for a safe rev limit for N1's on stock sr20ve springs and retainers? It looks like i should be making max power with a ssac at around 7.3k, so I'm planning to rev to 7.5K? I guess this is a good question for Dre...he has experience with this setup.

Now to figure out how to set a new rev limit with my realtime..
