Springs and Retainers?
I'm looking for S&Rs for my VE project. I just don't know which brand to go with. I'm looking for a setup that can get me to the 9000RPM range.

Any advice?

Definitely interested too. I realize how lame it sounds, but I have tried searching what brand people suggest and specs as far as what rpm they are good till with n1's or stock cams, and I can't find it. I know its out there. Has to be on the old forum......could anyone lend us guys a hand?

Thanks,

JWT's website has been saying their VE springs are BO since at least last summmer.

Is this one of these "do a group deal or we don't make them" types of situations?

Their website says 8200 RPM.

Keep in mind that their ECU program's redline for stock VE springs has a rev limit set at 7200 RPM, so this may be a tad on the conservative side.

Phew, $400 for those? Better start saving.

Well I guess its not like you would need to rev much over that, the N1 cams I'm assuming drop off before then...time to go look at some dyno graphs...

Thanks for the link, much appreciated.

I bought Slowboy's H22 BC springs for my N1 VE for a great deal a while back (<$200), can't recall actual price.

From what I've heard, retainers aren't required to 8.5 - 9k.

Supertech is has a set w/ retainers. They don't list them yet but we can get them. The factory seat pressure is around 75 lbs and the Supertech ones will take it up to 100lbs. We ran 106lbs on a DET head with out a problem up to 10k. But we needed more spring pressure to handle the anti-lag.
