Well no actually the powerband isn't any better. Its almost identical to the last motor, with stock crank. I think the weather was probably the reason it ran as well as it did. Also my driving was good, I picked up some time from just good shifting and hitting the right shift points.

I ran 5 11.5s the 60fts were low to mid 1.6s which is what I typically hit at this track..


The funny thing was there were two k24s in my class and yet I was the fastest and quickest qualifier. One was a stock long block making 230whp and the other was a fully stripped eg, built k20 head, cams, ported rbc, rcrew header just a nicely done set up. But he wasn't hitting gears or trapping that fast, 114-5mph. In a car lighter and more aerodynamic then mine I expected 11.20 even with it only making 280s.

I don't believe this story the K can never loose!

Congrats on your times! Doing well. I have always though an overbore donk with stock crank is the simplest most effective set up. Good luck with getting the 2.4 going hard though I am sure you will get it to where you want.
