Powerband differences SR16VE vs SR16VE N1 cams
Like the title says.

How big will the difference be between these cams?
Wil the N1 lose exessive low- and midrange power? Or does the SR16VE cams really lack top-end power?

N1 better.

^Honestly this is the best answer. 5-10whp through out the range, but it will probably vary by the tune/air fuel ratios.

is it that hard to grasp that a motor with vvl will not "loose" low end when upping the larger lobe?

If your low end is loose then you have bigger problems to worry about lol.

All I can do is speculate as I haven't tested the two on a sr16. But I think the two will be almost equal until 7.5k ish then the N1 will take over, the regular 16 will start to drop after 8.2ish. And the N1 will keep maiking power up at 8.5 and on. I think the higher quality and better the header is the bigger of a difference you will have betwen the two profiles. The N1 will have a larger, better power band as it will hold power longer...

Edit lol. Don't kno why I thought u were talking about on a 1.6 motor. Just drop the rpm refrences and the same is pretty much true. My expierence is that the sr16 cams are awesome and will do just as good, but will drop off a bit sooner. But once you have a good header you can take more advantage of the N1s. Still the 16 cam is great, Idont think ppl understand how good it is. They just assume the N1 is sooo much better

I currently own a SR20VE with 2,5" SS header. Dont plan on buying a 600 dollar header either.
Do have a ECU with daughterboard to get the mappings fine tuned.

Difference is like 1-2 cars length.

So N1 cams always outperform non-N1 cams
