Thread: DE TB on VE

ok so after searching an searching i havent found any information on this.. im wondering how to swap the sr20de throttle body onto the sr20ve intake..
is there anything special i need to do?

note: i will be using a highport TB but maybe someone will know about the lowport also..

my reasoning is i wanna avoid the whole screw gettin sucked into the valves thing.. also my VE TPS is fried, an the DE throttle position sensor is still good..


i know i kinda typed all that out oddly, but its because theres like no information about this, and if someone can answer this question, then the next perseon who has to search should have an easy time finding this thread..

Just swap it over and go. The coolant lines are in different spots but it still fits fine.

ok, so i dont have to swap the linkage over or nothin?

Are the TBs the same size??? I thought the VE was slightly bigger than a DE

exact same size, only difference is there isn't a bracket for the CC and has a cold idle screw. If you want cruise, you can swap linkage onto it.

Tb screws get sucked in to the manni??? WTF I don't want a ve.....

I ran a DE TB from day one with my car. My TPS was crushed on the VE TB and I couldn't source one. I pretty much unbolted the throttle body and I looped the coolant lines. The DE TB has the two small nipples for coolant lines but I just bypassed it. Pretty straight foward, you shouldn't have any issues!

I am not sure if this is the reason but I taking a guess and saying this will cause your cold idle to be high. There was no way for me to adjust it on my car. When cold it would idle up to 2,500. Depended on the day really. Could never figure it out, lol. Besides that, I am pretty sure there is no difference in size, at least when I compared mine.

Nope, no difference in size. Been using my DE TB on my VE since '03 with no issues.
