i was checking the thread,s views and i did not think so many people where going to view this thread i think it was like 4570

Will the pairing on this 4-2-1 header be the best for a 4-1 or will u have to pair a 4-1 different and if so in which pair order as i wanted to modify a 4-1 header

enoehttemi, the header you linked is already a 4-1 header. It's cylinder pairing is correct for any 4 cylinder engine with a firing order of 1-3-4-2 like the SR20 engine or many others. Did you mean to link me to a 4-2-1 header?

Edit: I just realized you might be talking about the 4-2-1 header the mercado ser used to make his. Let me take a look. Hang on.

Edit x2: Yes, the pairing for the 4-2-1 header that mercado ser used is also set up properly to be used as a 4-1 header if you get those pipes closer together and collected properly.

Not sure exactly what you're asking. What's going to make a 4-1 header good is having a rotational firing order within the collector. Having a good collector (this is key and where the money is spent). Having a stepped design is better. Having the primary and secondary pipe length tuned for your intended use is another thing that makes them great. A proper collector outlet size (sometimes called a "choke") is also important, as is the smooth transition from the smaller choke size to the overall exhaust size. Then you get into material choice and which is best. Titanium, stainless steel, carbonized steel, etc. I think inconel fits in there somewhere.

I want to use the 4-1 header i posted just wanted to know if to chance the pairing order to the one mercado ser has or use as it comes and just weld on a sr20 flange to it

The 4-1 header you posted won't need the pairing order changed.
(Technically it doesn't have any pairing order.)

You will be able to put flanges on it and be done provided it clears all obstacles.
