Q16 or C16 + Hi-Comp VE
Well daveracer posted for turbo VE's and this one is for N/A. Some local shop sells those race fuels and I think I'm going to try this A friend of mine told me I would have to tune the A/F again, if I use the q16 because it is oxigenated or something like that... Any input on this?

Why just 100 unleaded?

He is not talking about pump gas. We only get up to 93 at the pump also. You can got to most race shops and buy gas in 5 gallon drums from 100, 104, 107, 110, and 116 octane.

Do you have very high compression to take advantage of race fuel? Otherwise there is no point.

Leaded gas drastically shortens O2 sensor life FYI.

macakin 100 and 104 come unleaded. Also you can have any octane you want from 93 to 104 with a little mixing.

examples are per gallon

93 + 104 = 98.5 octane

93 + 93 + 104 = 96.6 octane

93 + 104 + 104 = 100 octane

anyway you can mix the gas you can get to get a specific octane level you are looking for

yeah 100 octane would be the best way to go. I mean unless your like 16:1 compression or something like that. But i havent seen one that high ever so i doubt it.

We ran my buddies 2.2L 12.5:1 on 91 pump gas with no issues as well. I know with 100 octane you can tune a killer timing curve and pick up some ponies. But the lowest octane you can get away with will yeild the most power.

if you are running a turbo ve and you plan on running q16 you will have to re tune the car to richen it up a little but because of it being an oxagenated fuel but you will gain power running q16 over c16

Those were my plans to buy some and mix it with 93oct, I might try that next week an see how it works

I use pump in anything 13. & lower. I have over 15.1 in my race car & run C12 which in reality is 108, I moved down from the 116 It did nothing but hurt me. I am building a new motor now that will be over 16.1 & I'm going to be switching to Q16 which is great for power because it's a highly oxygenated fuel.
