Thread: Race gas + Stock VE + Turbo

Dave- I know 18lbs should be safe with a good tune with c16....Hell I have seen that on 93.....not sure how long it would hold for but it did for a little bit when the car was at the track(Hartford, LOL). I would think you could go up to 20 but I would rather see 18 with a better timing curve making almost as much, if not the same power.

18 should be no problem with c16 and even a decent tune, i mean better tune the better but C16 has outstanding detonation resistant characteristics. Hell even the highest hp hondas out there racing are racing on C16 and other equivelent race fuels and not even running water/meth. Its good stuff. I will be using it more as a safety shield on my car when i have the boost at 30psi on my 60 trim. I can use 110 and have before but i like knowing i have the extra cusion and safety factor in there.

Tuning is your friend.


I know 29psi with c16 on a stock bluebird motor is fine.
I'm not worried about pushing it to the limit tho.....everyone is different.

On pump gas or race gas it doesn’t matter, the problem is the rods will give way @ 400-450 whp after a while. Stock VE’s can make more power but the rods will give way eventually.I wouldnt want more than 400whp personally on a "stock VE"

My dudes car has a JWT ECU with a S-AFC and the car runs perfect.

^ if he wants more PoWa he needs to go standalone.

dave i have no info to share as i dont have any first hand expierence with that kind of boost or fuel.

i on the other hand would trust people like kesi and rob who have had and been around some very high whp street and race cars.

to me how long it holds together with a lot of power
