Thread: SR16VE Tranny With Change Of 4th And 5th Opinions.

The FDs are very costly by them.

Just one unit is $1800
If we can get about 10 done the price would be down to about $1300.

He said he needs a sample of the factory unit to get a true figure so the price could go down depending on the pinion shaft design.


4th gear would cost $875 to make and 5th gear would cost $875.

If we can get 5 guys the price drop would be 20%, 10 guys would be 30% price drop.




Our best bet is to get the 5th gear from G spec.

5th 0.810 cost 71.53 usd main 5th gear, 140.35 usd input 5th gear = $212

4th gear from houseman = $875 or 5 people $700 or 10 people $613

I was told the price would be in the 700 range Plus shipping?

Ok then I guess I got us confused.... I was talking about the guy over seas making the 5.0 fd for the non lsd boxes...

I wonder how much the guys from overseas can make the pinion gear for and we have hoseman make the ring gear. should come out cheaper. well maybe

I can ask locally about custom 4th gear. Friend has Sunny GTi with custom tranny (1-5gears, stock FD) and it cost like 1000usd for everything.

I can't see why Houseman has the 4th and 5th gears more than $400 each gear set. $875 is way over priced.

Nissan has both the gears for 5th for $212, and Nissan parts are over priced.

I sent theis message to PAR in AUS and waiting to hear back from them.

SR20DE - SR16VE gear box.

I am trying to have some gears made. Below is the SR16VE gear box

1. 3.333 --- 14.788
2. 1.955 --- 8.674
3. 1.333 --- 5.914
4. 0.975 --- 4.326
5. 0.756 --- 3.354
Final Drive is 4.437

We are tring to have gears made for the 4th and 5th gear to bring it closer.

I wanted something like
4. 1.063
5. 0.872

Please let me know if this is possible and also the price in US dollars.

Hi Andreas,

These ratios are no problem at all. The pricing is $640 AUD per speed which i approximately $565 USD plus shipping. Current lead time is 4-5 weeks.

These can be made in either helical or straight cut configurations.
