Now for my opinion

The SR16VE trans on a 2L making 240 WHP will run about 109-110 MPH.

So the SR16VE box on 23 in slicks is the way to go.

Stratton, if you are going to make 240 WHP, please run the SR20DE trans with a 4.4 final drive. The 109-110 MPH will be perfect and crossing the line at 9000 RPMs will be spot on.

Numbers are on 23 tires at 8500 and 9000 RPMs

SR20DE trans with 4.437 FD

1. 3.063 --- 14.788 --- 43 MPH --- 46 MPH

2. 1.826 --- 8.674 --- 72 MPH --- 77 MPH

3. 1.333 --- 5.914 --- 103 MPH --- 109 MPH

4. 0.975 --- 4.326 --- 136 MPH --- 144 MPH

5. 0.756 --- 3.354 --- 175 MPH --- 185 MPH

how do you put the 4.4 on a 20tranny? just put in the 4.4FD form the 16ve?

Be realistic,.are you going to make 240 WHP, nope. Your going to make at best 215-220 which is good for about 105-106 MPH. So get what i told you to do.

SR16VE 4.4 Fd $375 shipped + $250 to press gears And have someone Install It in your SR20DE gear Box.

SR16VE gearbox $750 And you sell your SR20DE gearbox for $400.

@dre, sorry i have another Q...

if I would have access to a 6 speed p12 tranny with a 4.7 fd..that was converted to hydraulic,and it has the clutch, PP, pedal, shifter and mounts and driveshafts to go on my b14...at the same price of the 16ve tranny

i dunno why it was converted to hydraulic but a guy i know was selling it.

will it be better in the quarter mile on a b14 @ 215-220whp than the 16ve tranny?
