the m103 is for highports, ive never used the 110. They both use the same threads just one has a deeper port for the longer filter housing.

I've used 110. Its similar to Puralator's 14610.

Highports have a standard pitch, lowports after 94 have a metric pitch. They are very close but yes they leak and blow off if switched. My 94 lowport had a metric pitch 95+ filter when it was DE, blew off on a highway run & nearly lost the motor. I used highport filters prior but my one time use of a lowport filter was a costly lesson. 94 was the only year that the lowport had a standard pitch thread for the oil filter on the SE-R.

if you think the 108 is bad, you should see the size of the oil filter that came on my mazdaspeed protege. The FSDE engine uses puny freakin filters. haha Ours is big in comparison. haha

Well,I dont think that is correct. All I can say is that have tracked my ve and put over 9000 on it using the 110 filter.(3 oil changes with no problems)
But yes a highport filter will blow off,but like I said,I had no problem.

My last filter was a 108, no problems.
Just did my oil change yesterday and decided to use the 110.
Now I'm seeing this thread and people are saying the 110 will blow off and others are saying it's fine.
Question for the people who say it will blow off, has it actually happened to any of you?
Or is this just a hypothetical situation based off of other highport/lowport filters that have been swapped?
