^No answer to Krist question? I'm I have a 110, but not sure if I should go pick up a 108.

I just changed my oil and used the 108...thats what most ppl recommended while searching...plus the filter that was on there crossed over to the mobil part number also...added bonus is that advanced is running the mobil filter special again right now...

m1-108 is what my engine takes. (low port) 110 will not thread onto the filter port on mine.

110 fit just fine for my VE, but I'm going to go pick up a 108 and play it safe.

A cross-reference table. Can't verify the source but looks right to me.

Edit: Just saw this on bottom of page. Apparently the source is "johnk on b15Sentra.net"

But yes a highport filter will blow off,but like I said,I had no problem.

Just did my oil change yesterday and decided to use the 110.
Now I'm seeing this thread and people are saying the 110 will blow off and others are saying it's fine.
Question for the people who say it will blow off, has it actually happened to any of you?
Or is this just a hypothetical situation based off of other highport/lowport filters that have been swapped?

You guys can believe whatever you want.I am not talking out my ass and my findings are from my personal experience, and not something I read somewhere.
Maybe someone can call GregV and see if he can verify what I am about to post.
Ok lemme explain how I found out the 110 works. It was actually GregV who helped me figure this out.He may not remember it,but I do.

-At the time,I had a 20VE NX and a 05 4.0L Frontier.
-I called Greg to get some oil filters, and I was gonna stock up on like 5 for the truck,5 for the NX so I could get Nissan Filters(while they were still made in Japan, not China....thats a debate for another thread:rolleyes
- Anyway, when I told Greg what vehicles I had,he told me that the two filters were interchangeable.he said the one for the Truck was just a little taller, but they were the same diameter.
-Now I know Greg knows his shit,so I trust he was right...HOWEVER,I am like alot you guys and chose to play it safe and get the correct P/N for each filter.
-Low and behold when I get them,Greg was correct(as I suspected) and the truck filter was slightly longer, and I test fitted it to the NX.It screwed on the VE like butter and with plenty of threads.
-Out of curiosity I looked up what filter fit my truck and it said 110....soooo I went to Advance locally and compared the 108 to the 110.Of course the 110 was a little longer....go figure.
-So with that in mind, and info from Greg,I had to assume that the 108 and 110 are interchangeable too

-Obviously running the smaller filter on the 4.0 truck was not a good option, but running the bigger one on my VE was ok....and most of all ,I could just buy the same filter for both vehicles and simplify things.....which was what my original goal was when I called Gspec to stock up on filters

So after that,I would get the 110 and run it on both.Like I said before,I never had any problems with it blowing off.

Alot of the blowoff problems in my opinion are from people swapping in JDM highport motors and trying to use the USDM highport filter.
This is based on info I was given by Andreas Miko a few years ago when we got a highport JDM motor from him.He kindly reminded us,so we didnt get the wrong filter .
ALL sr20s came with the lowport filter after like 95.Most people dont realize that they still made the highport in Japan after 93.........So when you get a JDM highport, and it was built after 95 you will need the lowport filter.

HOPEFULLY Andreas Miko will confirm this,or correct me if I am wrong so we can put this to bed once and for all.

If I am wrong than I got REAL lucky doing at least 5 oilchanges on my VE with a 110 filter.......and typically my luck sucks...haha

Please post your findings also Mike.

Hmm. I'm not sure why you were quoting me?? I wasn't contradicting anything you said, I was just posting a cross reference table I found for the short and long filter and for each brand.

Just trying to be helpful...

You were being helpful,I thought.I wasnt trying throw you under the bus
I was quotting you because...unless I read it wrong...your chart confirms what I am saying

And actually,I just kinda randomly multi-quoted to do that post

^ Well that's good because I'm really not a fan of buses.

And I just noticed you quoted yourself as well in that post! You should go a bit easier on yourself!
