cars runs bad after vvl engaged
neo afc already in, vvl works better now and feels stronger

now we check the spark coming out from the dizzy but seems to be not strong enough

now could this affect the performance of the car?

if the ve dizzy its bad, meanwhilw can I use an sr20de one? and which one if it is the case

What Ive checked
*compression its ok 200psi on each cilinder
*total tune up, cap, plugs, wires and clean injectors

*the car sometimes runs great but most of it when gets to open the vvl the car sounds hard but does not pull that way

what do you think?

stock DE ECU?? without tune? that should be your prob... I had something like that with mine. Also you should be experiencing HORRIBLE fuel mileage when i took my car for a tune the Wideband was reading a mixture at idle of 10.9:1 and after the VVL engaged it was very lean thats why i think you are experiencing that after VVL the car dies. Good Luck!

The stock 259's are said to be rated to 175hp at 3 bar (stock) fuel pressure. Im sure once your VVL engages it runs really lean. Do you have a wideband at all?

thanks for the answers

the car actually runs with stock ve ecu, ve injectors and ve maf

the car has not been tune yet, I need the afc to arrive to take to the dyno and tune it ,the mileage indeed its kind of bad,

the timing right now its on 17*, If I move it lower than that the car does not like it and loses torq on low rpm,

thanks again for the answer this forum rocks, by the way Im a tico(Costa Rica)

On a 2-litre engine base timing should be 5degree advance at idle.

You might be causing a lot of pre-det, which might make it run poorly.

car its running a 4-2-1 pacesetter header(crappy one) secondaries on 2.5 and exhaust also on 2.5, when I first got the car it ran fine, then started with this problem 1-3 weeks after, sometimes it runs good(specially at night cold weather) but most of it doesnt
I know I need the AFC at leats to tune the basic part, I hope to get a calum or a jwt soon

Maybe the oil passage in the silenoid clogged? Clogged cat if u have one? Does having stock exhuast, header, or ecu make a ve run this bad like he's describing? All the ve i've seen seems to run fine with these stock parts.
