Missfire
I have a missfire on clyinder 1 in the N1, iv replaced dizzy cap, leads and plugs and it made no difference. Theres no blue smoke so its not the rings what im thinking is a dropped valve or injector problem, but it has 8 injectors 2 per cylinder so i doubt both are gone. if i cant find a remedy ill be buying a compression tester tomorrow to check compression across the board. if #1 is nearly no compression this would indicate a dropped valve i think.

car was going fine and i was taking it easy all day because of bad road conditions when i went to start it yesterday it was only going on 3. we did have a extremely hard frost that night -8 and lower but the cars been garaged since with a duvet thrown over the engine for good measure.

anyone got any ideas im stumped and considering going on the sauce for the day

happy christmas everyone

I'm thinking an injector took a crap. Don't know how hard you have driven it but doubt it's a dropped valve. If car was fine before start checking both #1 injectors. Injectors have been known to fail without warning, especially on initial startup. Been there a few times with my DE. Replaced the faulty one and all was good.

lol, i laugh because i dont wanna cry... i had a missing sound on vvl around 8000rpm recently... changed plugs, wires, distributor, ecu and it still happened... didnt have a clue as to what was the problem. car felt a bit (nothing obvious) under powered but i assumed it was as a result of the missing going on. someone said check the oil pan if there was anything unusual in it. checked it, shavings from the bearings were in the pan.

so check your oil pan...

this is missing on tickover, not firing at any revs throughout the range. oil is clean as a whistle

if one injector failed then the cylinder would be leaning out and could have burnt something out, is the car blowing any smoke?

My car is W O R K I N G , must of just been water from the -11 freeze melting into injector plug causing a wrong resistance reading, VVL for the new year
