Ask for Mark, then say I have a SR20VE block and would like to buy some sleeves and have them installed and deck the block. Get back to me on the price since you know so much, I bet it is even more than a grand maybe closer to $1200-$1300.

do it.

Really!!!!!

Well if that's what they are really charging, they should be ashamed. This would indicate that they are miss-advertising.

I have never in my life seen anyone do this job for less than $900.

taken right from their site.
"If you need us just to install the sleeves, we can do that too. This is all done on our CNC machine to ensure accurate tolorences. We bore out the block to accomidate Darton Sleeves. Then we seal them in and let them cure over night. This is just the cost of installation with out bore/hone/deck/or cleaning. If you don't have sleeves, you will have to purchase them with this. We typically have these blocks ready to ship! A core exchange is needed."

yes they will install them for 280 but that doesnt include any machine work add another 320 for the bore and hone job. so looking at 600$ before you buy the darton sleeves.

Thanks for clearing that up, so yes it does cost 280 + 375 to have sleeves installed. This was exactly the point I was making.

I took bore/hone out of the equation because I was comparing the machine work cost of the sleeves and install vs getting the crank and rods done.

In either case you need to have bore and hone.

Hope this clears up any confusion Andreas Miko.

After a bit more thought (courstesy of Derm's piss taking)
A bit more investigation into what rod to use would be needed as I had a bit of a daft moment, which means the narrow BE would be actually be a problem, I won't go into why as i'll just make my self look more stupid but, when I get a bit more time i'll see if I can find another rod/piston combo. So suffice to say this thread as of now is more or less useless.
