The impression I got from the thread Got rod knock? What oil were you using? was that the most likely cause of those engines' demise was the oil they used.

Regardless, I'm not trying to belittle Dale's work at all. It's a great idea, and as Shawn B said, it's a lot less expensive than oil starvation

I have decided against running oil cooling fins along the side of the pan. Maths tells me i wont be able to cool the oil quick enough to warranty any actuall use or time.

Unless i can get the pans made of a total cast aluminum, with built in fins and crevaces - it wont happen efectively.
