Thread: Starting, high idle, dies

I wonder if perhaps I connected all the air hoses correctly. I'm going to go make a list of where hoses are and where they are going - anyone who knows the right places they belong please perk up - I will be taking photos to accompany tomorrow.

awhaa? Someone want to enlighten me on this 'tube the goes to the air intake tube' other than the vc tube?

it looks like the VC hose goes pre maf, is that correct?

though not according to the photo on oem's website regarding their cai setup




does anyone have access to the VE vacuum diagram?

i have never touched a ve but there should be a hose coming from the IM to the intake pipe before the maf if thats what your asking

its has to be a ecu or wiring issue... i pulled the motor out of the car and it ran. and it just sat in my garage on engine stand.

this motor was in my b15 se with a b14 harness adaptor, and a calum basic , i never used the iac or did i **** with it, i only used the low idle on the ecu. i never had any issues with engine.

only thing i took off was the fuel rail. can u make sure all the rubber gromits are there...?

that tube is for coolant for the iac.... or no.....?

does the car run if u hold the gas, how long do u hold the throttle down.

the hoes goes after the maf, thats how i had it.

cuz with out the iac, it would just wanna die untill it out out of close loop or open, not sure. and what o2 bung u taking about....?

sounds like theres your problem.. that that kinked iacv tube an clamp a rubber hose on that an run it to the intake tube Before the maf..

all vacume lines goto the intake tube between throttle body an maf, not between maf an filter.. make sure all the clamps are tight..


an is that your silver valve cover? that thing is sweet, lovin the inverted neovvl

try swapping the 2 orange wires for the maf..... worked for me... i had 3 harnesses all the maf wires looked dissimilar so i figured to try swapping them and make sure ur battery is diconnected or @ Least ignition...

The pipe you first pictured goes to your intake between the TB and MAF. It'll go to the back side of your intake tube. If you don't have that hooked up then it will cause for a substantial vacuum leak and allow alot of unmetered air into the engine causin it to run like crap.

You more than likely have your wires mixed up. Try swapping wires and reground the MAF. Ground wire is the middle pin. Power left pin and read is right pin. This is MAF installed in car and plug toward firewall. Those are pins for MAF itself when looking directly at it from front of car.
