I've noticed lately swaps making sub par numbers, and even more cammed motors making really low numbers bacause there not set up right, a healthy swap w i/h/e should do around 180whp and run mid 13s at close to 100mph in a b13... but what would I know

I've noticed this too, in the old forum most SR20VE's were making 185whp on basic I/H/E. I'm currently did 181whp with N1's. I'm thinking the reason for this is that the early "SR20VE 95's" were way better,, I remeber reading in the old forum that it was a fact that they were ported better for some reason. Most engine importers now are getting the newer version of the VE's like mine is a 99'.
I can even tell you I did a swap for a guy he's engine was stamped 95' and the sound of the engine had a diferent pitch to it, sounded nice too.

well thats true, but mine for example was on a dynojet which suppose to readd the highest. I think my VE it's a liitle worn from a few bottles of nitrous.

Well, VEs are not as healthy as before. A 95 is a 15 years old engine already and most people just buy it used, swap it and hope for the best...
