SR20VE Stock standard .. tuning
Wondering

I have stock standard SR20VE
sending it for tuning soon
what is the best and optimum setting for it ?

Cam Degree ?
Exhaust size ?
VVL opening RPM ?

This is for street car .. looking for low end only not top end power

I am interested in seeing where this thread goes because I am very curious about the VEs low end capabilitys. All we ever hear about is once the VVL kicks in.

the cam timing and VVL activation are using specific to each car and take some trial and error.

As for exhaust, if you are keeping a street car I wouldn't go larger than 2.5". I think that would offer the optimum balance.

2.5" Exhaust
i have one query as well
2.5" inlet diameter or 2.5" Outer Diameter ?

Since 2.5 " inlet mean outlet is 2.6 or 2.7" depending material

2.5" outlet is around 2.3"

I not sure which one to use

Thank you

I don't see the reasoning in not having top end power.....Remember you drive a four cylinder. If you want bottom end power put a t25 turbo setup on.

My 3 inch with a ws2 is quieter then allot of 2 inch cars I have heard. It is all relative to how you are willing to set it up. 3 inch will give you better top end with no reduction in low end grunt.

I think that the standard is that a 2.5" pipe has a 2.5" outside diameter.

that my concern
since 2.5" outer diameter mean can be 2.3 inlet diameter

go 3 inchs, internally stock sr20's have been dyno proven to make more power with a 3 inch exhaust.

stratton.
