Yes but the 3" collector is after a 2 1/4 choke then a transition or megaphone with a reverse cone on the end

Is that a stock cross member? I believe the cross members are different on diff sr cars, so you might have clearance problems with the cross member on other cars.

Great looking start. I still have my ASP 4-2-1 in my bedroom, but I like they way this looks. Subscribed for more details....

Was this collector made "in house" or was it purchased from somewhere else. If its not a big deal could you please tell us where it was purchased from?

If your runners are 2" before the collector then the collector should choke down to 2" (many designs choke down to 2.25" instead with slightly better results I think). Without this choke zone, the low pressure created in the adjacent pipe(s) is much less as the exhaust pulse looses velocity too early (in the collector) before it can create a vacuum in the other pipes.

Also, it may look like a restriction, but the choke zone is actually the same size or bigger than the runner and remember only one pulse is entering the collector at a time so it's no restriction at all.

Please don't think I'm talking down to you, I'm just trying to make a very complicated nuance of N/A header design sound simple. And if you prefer not to take this advice, I'm sure we wouldn't hold it against you if you have something to back up your decision. I'm sure we'd love to see two prototypes pitted against each other on your dyno.

We appreciate the input. Our collector chokes down to 2.25" ID from the 1.51" ID primary. And then opens to 3". I've never seen a collector that the choke point is equal to the primary.

BenFenner, please stay out of it. You are messing it up for everybody with an NA VE.

We all know how you are an expert with VE cams and headers, based on previous discussion about them.

Don't forget everybody, this is just a prototype.
