major headache-20VE with SR16 ecu and B14 harness swap
The car is a B14 se converted to 2.0 was bought as a shell but was running a 20VE+16VE ECU+20VE MAF+B14 harness cut to fit to SR16 ECU (whole diff plug and pin-out). Then my friend bought the exact set-up that just came out of the car-running. So i installed it hopeing it would be straight forward but still knowing it might be a pain (the harness is a real hack job, a lot of the connections were wire nuts, some just twisted wires together with electrical tape, the aux plugs inside the car had half the wires not connected in which none of the conections were the same color wires so i have no idea what came undone basically) I have no pinouts for the aux plugs and dont know where to find them, cuz i would need the SR16 and B14 pinouts.

Anyway-here's the actual problem-car runs like sh*t. At first it wouldnt rev over 2500rpm-fixed that. Car originally had a safc so when it was taken out there was a wire for the MAF that wasnt reconnected. Reconnected that wire and it revved up, but basically ran like the MAF wasnt there. Actually exactly like that because when i unplug it it runs the same. Tested the MAF wires at the sensor it has 12V, 0-5V signal wire is working (blow through test warmed up), but when i hook up a voltmeter to the two MAF wires at the ecu (according to the VVL pin-out) there is no power at either, and the wires are connected to another wire in the harness(diff color). It also doesn't idle, and the fans run all the time when the car is turned on but dont know if they're hardwired that way by the guy who did the swap.

anyhelp is appreciated. I did this post up quick, if you need more info let me know what you need. I am not electically inclined so i did the install hoping for no probs as it ran before, but expecting probs with the hopes of learning more about the electrical stuff-but i cant figure this out.
Thanks, Steve

why did you take out the safc? you will need that unless you run bigger injectors

It was installed, but never set-up. it was cleared when he ran the motor. The plugs look a good golden brown when i put the motor in, so i think it ran good as far as AFR. It was not running a 02, and the ign timing was cranked to advance, maybe that had something to do with how the motor ran good before?

spend a little money and switch do a DE harness, and a modified ecu (jwt or calum)

Yeah, just get another b14 harness and ecu and send it to calum

get a new harness..... before it does harm to something on the motor or ecu

I thought calum wasn't doing ecu's right now. Anyway-yeah, thats what i would have done in the first place if it was my car, but its a buddies and he decided to take the harness to a speed shop down here and have it all re-done. So hopefully it will plug back in and work for him.
