Help my identify this SR16VE gearbox plz
The other thread is starting to get quite confusing, so I make this simple topic.

I can buy an SR16VE transmission which has the following properties:

- came from a Pulsar VZ-R
- is a cable tranny
- it has cooling ribs
- you cannot peak through the casing, there something in the middle

Is this a SR16VE non-LSD??

Sounds exactly like the one in my VZ-R Pulsar. AKAIK all VZ-R's had LSD gearboxes so it's more than likely LSD. If you can get a picture of the LHS of the gearbox you can tell for sure.

All Pulsar VZ-R SR16ve trannies are LSD and ribbed. Not all ribbed LSD trannies are from the Pulsar VZ-R SR16ve.

Not sure how you can tell.

You can sure know if it's LSD based on the above link.

Of course the SR16ve LSD from the VZ-R has closer ratios.

Peace

i'll say it Again. there should be a bulge on the side where the drivers side axle goes in, thus the need for using a different axle if your swapping from non lsd to lsd.

heres a pic of mine while it was out, look where the drivers side axle goes.. see how its kinda bulged out? ( kinda like that..

compare this pic with the 2 trannys you have, this tranny is an lsd so if your new one is an lsd it should have the same bulge..

He also wants to know if it's a sr16ve tranny (closer ratio), not just to know if it's lsd.

Peace
