it was actually the initial peak numbers that had me down, i thought my ve was weak. now that ive had time to really compare the graphs, i like my power band better. if we were to race on the freeway hed take me, but quarter mile its gonna be a drivers race. theres no doubt that a better tune can give me higher peak numbers, but for now, im satisfied.

people keep bringing up the header, lets not forget, my friend put down 190 on an identical header (1st gen hs = ps header).

getting rid of a pacesetter is less about power, more about quality. the pacesetter is a piece of junk. you don't even have to spend a lot of money either. SSautochrome headers are cheap. better stepping to your 3". thats all.

ive had this header for 7 years and its holding up just fine. if the ssa isnt gonna give me much more power, whats the point in spending the money.

Hey atleast you did better than me cause when i had sr16 cams i made the same power as you on stock 2.0 cams. Try swaping ecu if u can to see if your motor respond well on his ecu as for him and vise versa.

Im making a part out thread on tuesday on my ve car. Im running ve everything, so what I got is a 16bit chipped ve ecu, with 8500rpm rev limit, 5200/5800 switchover, on 370cc injectors, with no need of an o2 sensor. Its complete plug and play for the ve harness and has ran perfect in my 203whp ve for 2years. So Im guessing Ill let the ve harness/ecu/injectors go for 350ish if you are interested. Either way for everyone, expect some very nice ve performance parts for cheap on tuesday.

Nismo,

You have a faster car than you friend so I don't know why you are worried.

If you analyze you power band you will see that you should beat him on the 1320. He will beat you on the highway.

I would worry about that 21* timing.

I found out that with the 3" exhaust, the ve prefers lower timing. I made 184whp, 146wtq with a chipped ecu, stock flywheel, sr16ve cams (stock 20ve cam gears) with 13* timing.

I really think that timing is too high for your motor.

What is you AFR and where do you switch vvl?

Peace

couldn't this 3" exhaust on a stock motor be holding him back as well as the de maf aside from the ecu ??? i have 2.5" on mine and there is barely any back pressure.... i made a few more hp than him as well.... but i also have ve maf and a calum (UNTUNED) as of yet..

as i posted in post #31, after comparing both graphs i am satisfied with what my car is putting down. as far as the timing, your aftermarket programs change the maps, thats why you dont have to run the timing so high. im on a stock program thats set up to run smaller injectors, if i lower my timing ill be running way to rich. when i do get my realtime in with my ve maf my numbers will improve, i know that. i think as far as what im working with, my numbers couldnt have been better.

blistex,
back pressure.... seriously?
