Why get honda springs when you can just get springs from kelford cams.
good to 13.5mm of lift and 10,000 rpm and uses stock retainers.

USD210 plus freight.

just because you open up the lift to 13.5mm doesnt mean you are going to gain CFM flow or any volume of flow over a certain mm of lift without extensive headwork.

I wasn't implying that in anyway i was just saying that some aftermarket springs made specifically for our engine are cheaply and readily available. The lift and rev comment was just to say no matter how wild your engine setup is those springs are more than likely fine.

I wasn't try to come across as an ass. H22 springs may have been the best option available at the time. Its just more and more VVL stuff is becoming available now so i dont see the point of using honda bits.

Like you said it. At that time I've done the homework and was the first to say the h22 springs fit. I tested buddy club, skunk2 and another make. They could handle more lift and are about 30% stiffer than the stock springs and could work with standard retainers. I haven't had the oppertunity of using stock of the shelve stuff. How good is kelford? I don't know. I haven't test them and for me to buy a set and they might not be as good as the sets I have.

Yeah i completely agree with what you say. There probably isn't any benefit for you to try/change to kelford springs if what you have now works for you, but for someone who may be looking for springs now there are several makes of springs made specifically for ve's so why not use a set of springs that has been developed specifically for our motor. I am obviously slightly biased towards kelfords as i live in the same city as them, so can just rock in and get them.
Read the lets talk camshafts thread for what people think of Kelfords.

For anyone who is interested, kelfords website is www.camshaftshop.com
this website was made to make it easier for USA guys to buy parts from them and all of the prices are in USD (end of plug)

Could you post a picture of the front suspension. The almost horizontal damper setup looks very interesting.

Not just what he said but the stock rocker will not go past 12.6-12.7MM of lift anyways.

As i said i was purely just saying the limits of the spring. 13.5mm of Lift till coil bind. 10000 rpm till valve float. Whats hard to understand about that!
If you want springs that is one option made for specifically for the VE. There are others. If someone wants to use honda springs they can use honda springs Derm has proven thats possible too. I think we can drop the spring issue now and let derm's thread get back to his drag car!
