Get out of the cave nistune is not the only tunable option out there.
Good for you nothing wrong with the calum ecu or the tuner code. I prob would have gone with the tuner code if a few criteria's had been met. 1 been able to get a Calum real time ecu. I would have waited months upon months and prob never got it. 2 multi platform use, I use my nistune software on my B13 and my S14. Matt @ nistune constantly works on the nistune program to bring updates so for right now tuner code is better for the B14/B13 but that's for now. The next update could change all that but who cares I'll keep my nistune and be happy with it till I go to a standalone.
I did not say Nistune isn't worth it. I say it still costs a pretty penny. $676.50 for a Type 4 board + install + USB cable + software, or maybe a little less if you get it from AutoVaughn? EDIT: Yes, $565.00
If I had a Nistune, I would also hold on to it, tighter than to the Calum, but I see no reason to jump from a Calum RT to a Nistune though.
So with Nistune ruled out for now, please help me see the light to get out of the cave. What have we got that is NOT standalone and cost nearly $1K? Of course I would be more than happy to go standalone...
Megasquirt? (supposedly not costly but a headache to implement by yourself or $$$ to pay someone to install it anyway)
Honda ECU? (Again, not costly but some work to implement and do you have to burn chips for it or is it realtime?)
Piggy-backs? (E-Manage Blue / Ultimate, SAFC, Others?)
