I don’t recall saying you need a P&P head but from what I know today it’s not necessary unless you are in the 280-300 whp but that is all out drag motor.I am really happy to see that VE's can make 300whp it's amazing who would knew

300 whp I am late here on the news? So you have seen 300 whp n/a motors.

Sure, worst part of every car is driver.

I think 180-200whp is enought for start. Much important is weight reduction, brakes, suspension and again.. DRIVER.

Thats because most people dont know how to port an sr20ve head properly. If not done correctly it can have a negative effect. If done properly there are huge gains.

also to the people talking about intake manifolds....pfft what serious race car runs an intake manifold. ITB's are the only way.

No disrespect to you, who said anything about "serious race cars" 250whp VE's does not need ITB's.IF you reread the question again he wants to know how to build a 250whp VE motor and we did that already.BTW most of the K series "racecars" run intake manifolds. If you want information on this i can gladly point you in the right direction. We can go back and forth all day but until you can prove you make can make more power with intakes' headers ported head's and any other theres it's just theory talk!

Believe me people have posted here results from (DPR) just to mention one place and ported heads from people that post here with flow bench data that indicate that they flow better than stock and again gains are minimal...

No need to take this in the direction of negative town.

If someone wants to make a statement on Power vs. mods please start a thread showing your before and after results.

I have seen Jun's dyno and his combination works for 250whp+
If someone else would like to show a dyno proven alternative way of getting there please do, the more information shared the better.
