Me for example. I daily my car. I cant have the car sitting for a month waiting on a VE dizzy when I can get a DE one for $35 local and already modded for a VE
They may not sell them at Autozone, but GregV sure does. I bought my VE cap and rotor from him when I was installing my VE. AND he even sells distributors. They may not be $35, but they're brand new OEM. And no, you can't compare the cost of a brand new OEM VE dizzy to a used DE.

You don't have to chop the harness. If you really wanted to, you could just pull the pins out of the plugs and swap them over to the VE dizzy plug. All that you really have to do is cut the ends off of the wires and solder them into the wires on the VE dizzy plug. It's not rocket science and you don't have to be a brain surgen to wire it up. And if you take your time and make sure that you do it cleanly, then you'll never notice that you swapped plugs. You can't tell that I changed out the plug in my picture of my car above.
