Thread: Nology Hotwires

So back when I was first gathering parts for my VE swap, I snagged a set of hotwires off eBay that were for the 87-89 i think integras. $90-some shipped for them brand new.

I got them, opened them up and noticed that they were shorter compared to sr plug wires. Well on the shelf they went until Sunday when I went to first fire up my VE and realized I was a wire short. Went to pull one off the SE-R and couldn't use those cuz the fused themselves to the plugs. In a last ditch effort I pulled the hotwires out and figured I'd give 'em a try.

To my suprise, they actually fit and work well. All you have to do is pull the seal around the vc back about 1/2-1" so the wire will snap onto the plug. It's just a good thing that those seals slide on the wire.



Lon story short, you can use the old old teg plu wires, along with just about any other Honda hotwires. Good for when you want some cheap but can't find 'em for the sr on eBay.

Personally I wouldn't use any Nology wires at all. I used to think they were the sh*t when I had my civic and then one of the wires blew up on me. Found out this was a common problem with them for any kind of car. Well hope it doesn't crap out on you like it did with me and the other people that I know that used them in the past.

Doesnt MSD has plug wires for the SR20VE set up ? - Can anyone throw up a part number?

I'm sure they do, but I didn't even think of looking into them. And honestly, the hotwires that I found on ebay were cheaper than the other plug wires that I've heard of.

they look nice, never used them so not sure on performance, what do you think of the wires?

I haven't been able to drive the car yet, but even with the IACV not hooked up, it idles like a champ even on cold startup. I've never driven a VE before either and won't be able to compare to stock wires.
