My VE troubles......(edit) NO more troubles ..... JMR got me
so recently i swapped a ve into my b13.. I purchased a calum unit for management and a ve MAF..... I basically bought everything i needed to make this swap possible. now on initial startup everything seemd ok. idle fine etc...... i stupidly grounded out the wires for the maf, while it was being wired up...... now that ecu wasnt working anymore... so i borrowed some one ecu that had the same basemap..... now it wont read my tps, it idles @ around 2300 rpm's and smokes white smoke, i fill up th tank 93, low and behold, it takes 40 miles and im @ a lil above 1/2 tank...... burns crazy fuel..... car bogs and im nervous about driving it because its my 1st vvl..... ive seach bar'd with lil luck..... just to add i changed my harness to a 94 cuz my stock harness was cut up... tried using a sr16vvl ecu it started the car fine but wont read my maf....... im cofused because it works on the ecu in the car now but o don't wanna drive it cuz idk wtf is goin on.... the motor sounds healthy but doesnt run for ****....... has anyone had similar issues?? i know its running rich but a half a tank used in 40 miles? mind you my old DE mtor ran fine b4 the swap...

Why don't you check your maf readings. It sounds very possible you shorted out the maf. As for your tps, well you can test that too.

Take it from where you first had problems, you will figure it out.

Huh? Sounds like you have mismatched something, ect sensor right for ecu? Wiring correct for maf? Did you check the tps? Do you even have a multimeter?

we've tried several ecu's and mafs. btw, my tps is fine it worked on a diff ecu but the maf didn't ... im curious as 2 whether it may be that i swapped from a 92 to a 94 harness? it seems that there are soooooo many variables with this thing
