Secondary specs?
Hey Guys,

I have a question for you guys...

I am putting a p11 SR20VE in my N14 Sentra and as Im from South Africa
we dont have access to trick headers like most of you guys

Anyway, now Im planning on having custom secondaries made up with the
stock cast primaries as I've heard they are pretty good.

Now for my question what would you guys recommend for secondaries?

It will be a stock motor and I'll be running a 70mm (yes 70mm) mandrel
bend system with either 63mm silencers or 76mm ones (will still decide).

Please guys some feedback would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

70mm is ideal. Actually that was what I wanted but we dont get those here in Jamaica. That converts to 2.75" and some of us here use 3". Some use 2.5".

If you are going to use the stock primaries, which is good, you should not make them less than 2" in diameter and about 12-13' long. I dont want to guess but maybe 1.75" or 1.78" in dia.

You can get some idea from a Fugi header.

I tried 13 inches and 2" diameter secondaries with my stock primaries and it didnt work out.

Peace

Hey niZmo,

Thanx for the reply man, I hope the 70mm system works out for me.

I've done my homework and searched everywhere for specs, but didn't
get a definitive answer as to what specs.

Here is what I got so far...

mrslappy said:

6-8" (152 – 203mm) 1.875" (47.6mm) stepped to 2" (50.8mm) for 6" (152mm) then 2-1 merge 2.25" (57mm) choke 6-7 deg flare to 2.5 or 3".

and Evlnx said:

Im now running p11ve primaries, and custom 1 7/8 (47mm) secondaries, with a 60mm burns collector copy, and a taper cone to 3" exhaust.

The only problem is they were not running stock motors.

Evlnx's setup sounds good, I just dont know how long it was, he didnt say.
Bud, like I said he was running a 20v with 20v low/ N1 high cams and some
other mods.

Can anyone confirm mrslappy's setup, cause I'll probably go for that then.

Please guys, any help would really mean alot to me.

Cheers

You see, you could make your secondaries 2" in dia and 12-13" long with a proper 2 to 1 collector if you were using an after-market primaries (header) with a few more bolt ons. However, if you are keeping the stock primaries, then altering the secondaries and making a 2.25 into 3" or 2.5" into 3" collector may not be the best thing.

Try and get it back to stock a close as possible.

This is the stock one:

Don't remember the length.

It's on a Pulsar n15 so you can maybe use the other parts of the car to judge length. Notice that it merge where the axle would be. The diameter size (just confirm) is 1.75".

Thanx for your trouble man, that will definitely help.

Just one thing, isnt the stock secondaries pretty crappy?

Maybe I'll use the length but increase the pipe size to 48mm.

Anyway, thanx again.
