The ssac choke point is midrange at the 190-200whp point. Above that it is a bottleneck everywhere. So skip to it! Welcome.

Come on man......I tried to be the adult and even went as far as to say I am sorry. I really wanted to move on and once again you make another childish comment about my winded statement, which is a great post I must say

You already ruined my thread, so now what???

You also made my main point of making this thread to begin with and that is should I or should I get s/r's when I use N1's and rev up to 8800-9k and is it safe??? Nobody seems to agree on that and what is the valve float point, etc.......Coheed and nismotuner both say it is ok, but alot of others will disagree, my buddy included. You and I seem to be exactly on the same page about my mods being sufficient enough until that 200-210whp mark at which point I said I will ditch my beloved ssac and buy a nice 4-1 header and spary her, but easily and very carefully. My plans are now set and I now know what I needed. Sorry for bothering you with my long winded post, but I just love to type!!

Now that wasn't that bad?:o

Sounds good bro and congrats on getting married....welcome!!
I can't wait to see what and how well you do.....Few questions: How cold are you going to go on plugs? 6-7 maybe??? And what are you gapping them at? Where do you plan to set your timing?? I was thinking maybe 13 to start and see what she likes best. As you can see there alot of things to try and figure out...

Next spring is when MY Nitrous powered VE will come, so I hope you have figured it all out by then, which btw I am sure you will. I have some parts to save up for and will be pretty busy building a nice clean gt3076r turbo motor over the winter to keep me busy and from messing with the VE :o

Hope to hear some results soon!

Well we just got back from the track. I know first and second gears its hard to keep my car away from 9K. Just would shred the tires and fly up there. I have spoke to a couple of guys and they all have been doing stock S&R's with N1 cams. Is it safe? Eh, probably not so much. Would it be better to get some aftermarket S&R's? I'd assume so. Being a broke college student doesn't help though. So for now i'll stick with the stockers using N1's and enjoy my 13 second daily driver lol.

^This post = WIN. It's better to be safe than sorry. You can do it, but for how long? I guess it depends on the motor. 13 second daily = a fun car. I'll be getting supertech s/r's and calling it a day.

So how did you do at the track? Any slips?

As for this whole s/r thing its really not even a decision anymore its definitely going to be done just for safety and piece of mind!

Yeah definately dude. I am planning on a set of springs and retainers for mine as well since I love revving it out. I also plan on working the bottom end over the winter when I have winter break from school.

The car did decent. I was happy for the most part. The car ran a 13.9 @ 99 in full street trim how I drive daily. Slapped on my BFG's with 50% life and my 60' went down by .05 or so haha. It was hard getting the car to launch without spinning in first. Best run of the day was a 13.8 @ 99 with a 2.1 60'. Its a very basic setup so I can't complain ya know. I have a thread in the drag racing section if your interested in more details/video.
