power going in and out??
I am having a problem with my VE. So I finally got all the leaks in order and the car running good, through in a set of sr16 cams( mods are in my sign) Anyway when i hit vvl the power comes on nice and linear, but seems to dip in and out all the way to rev lmit( mine is currently set at 7900)

Now to me this has to be ignition related, so I changed the coil and it seemed to help, but it seems like its doing it again. The plugs are fine as are the wires. The igniter is also fine and probably has nothing to do with it anyway. Kust so uou guys n\know I am using the old school igniter, coil, distributor set-up.

Could something be up with my distributor or is it most likely the coill? I am leaning towards the coil, but I really don't want to invest into a whole ignition sytem, which will set me back 400-500+

Anybody have any ideas??

btw I have a great example: tonight I was on the highway doing about 60mph when I hit it and go into vvl and the car initially takes off like crazy, but then starts to struggle around 6800rpm to make it to 8K???? I am confused and need to figure this out.

i was reading a thread i believe billc did where he was havin issues with the high cams turning off an on at high rpms, turned out the signal for his rpm switch was weak. he solved his problem by gettin the signal from the tach wire from ecu (blue an black wire) not sure how yours is setup, but its just a suggestion.. oh also thats where i get my signal for my rpm switch, an it works good

My MSS is tapped into the tach wire coming off the ecu already?? Although, so is my digital shift light. You don't think that is causing a issue? I mean the light just gets its signal form there not power, thats a seperate wire??

I think I am going to change the distributor first and see if that helps if not then I am going to rewire my whole mss to its own power supply and I think I will maybe use the tam screw on the back of the tach for my shift light instead of sharing with the mss signal.

Hopefully that will work
