some pretty sad dyno results..
well today i took my car to a local show that a performance shop was sponsoring for nissan/datsun Z cars.. they had a dyno thing goin on so i had them test my car, i didnt get to play with switch points or anything they jus did the runs pretty close together, but for 40 bux for 3 pulls thats not bad!
wasnt very hot out, low - mid 70s, it was done on a mustang dyno an i was the first to run.

mods:
sr20ve
calum basic stock ve tune
3inch ebay intake tube between maf an tb an a stillen 2.5? i think cai after the maf
gen 4 hotshot header just bolted on no mods to flange or dp
2.5 mandrel bent exhaust w/ magnaflow muffler an resonator
jwt pp b15 clutch disk

now im not sure if this was because i have no aligment, jus kinda did it myself.. car drives straight tho, or maybe because the tps is bad, or the crappy header i have or possibly the crappy cai, or possibly cause it was done on a mustang dyno.. or maybe a mix of a few of those..

a few of my buddys when on an also ran lower numbers then they had at other places, a rb26dett ran about 60hp and alot of tq less then it did on a dynojet (or so he said)

ok so enough of the excuses.. heres what i got.. best of 3 runs

one thing i noticed is i had alot nicer of a tq curve then alot of the other guys, even in they're big straight six an v6 engines lol but they had alot more peak tq then me haha

Different dyno different results. That's why you uses the same dyno over and over again to make sure you have a proper gain.

I think is just about rite on a mustang dyno. You will be at about 170ish on a dyno jet.I've seen similar results.I know somebody that makes 190ish on a dynojet and makes 170ish on a mustang dyno.

yea im really hoping thats the case, these guys didnt seem like they did much, kinda typed in my name an car, car weight, engine type, few other things but they didnt seem to change anything for the other cars.. pretty much everyone that dynoed that has dynoed at another place got less hp then they did other places

Yep this is a Mustang dyno so the numbers are going to be low. I'd guess that you would be around 17X on a Dynojet. I was only making 260whp with a t28 @15# and S4s on a Mustang when other people show over 300 with the same setup on a Dynojet.

heres a video my friend did the editing an stuff for me, thats all 3 runs, the 3rd bein the best (after they put a fan blowin on the front)

run 1: 145.8hp @ 6600 128.0tq @ 4800
run 2: 147.1hp @ 6600 129.9tq @ 4800
run 3: 150.1hp @ 6900 129.6tq @ 4800

i dont think they ever revved it higher then 7400, which is about right, but i've been known to play with fire..

wish i could of played with the cam switch points, right now they're switchin at 4600 i'd like to have tryed 4800 an maybe 5000
oh an i think my timings at like 16-17 degrees

oh an the smoke was from an exploded power steering hose i had Just replaced like 3 days ago
