^you are right but we can only do so much with the dimensions we are given to work within... this is why intake manis are not as easy for us.

u think its hard for u ??? u guy got a east/west mounted engine to work with.... i got a north/south mounted engine to work with, i was more limited to design because of space then u guys and not only that my car is right hand drive so i had a brake booster on the inlet side of my engine as well

I'm jusr saying unless we get creative and use some curved runners we can only fit like 7in runners with a plenum unless we do like he did and extend the runners into the plenum.. I guess well see how it does. Id like to see what it does on the flowbench aswell.

it would be cool too see what someone could do with some mandrel bends an stuff..

is there a benefit for having straight runners?

straight runners are just easier to work it
u cant buy velocity stacks with bends on them
so unless u can bend it yourself with out cracking it u will most likely need to get some thing CNC machined which is very costly

short straight runners normally works better for top end
long runners with a slight bend in them works better for torque and are normally more responsive

I may end up going this route, with cnc'd runners, to give me my desired legnth. Well see.
I look foward to how u do on the dyno kid !

my runners are only 2inch's long i wish i had enough room for 7inch's of runner length
i would like longer runners but i was limited to space as u can see in this picture
the engine still makes 515hp at the rear wheels but i still want to try another design

i bought another P12 primera inlet manifold so i can cut it up and make another custom manifold i enjoy doing stuff like this anyway

The lenght I believe is a little more critical on an NA set up.. but yeah that's a tight fit, deff need some curved runners

Runner length is way more critical on an NA motor as Cory said.

500hp is more than capable on pretty low boost with a stock IM with a VET.

Turbo is a whole different story for IM combination. Short runner/big plenum has always worked well.
