ok so after doing some searching to find out what you have

http://www.sr20-forum.com/search.php?searchid=564468

i've found some weak points... first off your using a button to activate the vvl solenoids.. that right there is lame.. another thread you talk about the car running rich, an another thread you say it wont rev very well..

i think you should take some time and get your car running right before you go romping on it, im not one to talk, i drove my car for a week (not much per day jus to the store or to the exhaust shop) running on 3 cylinders lol, thank god i figured that out quick! after you get it running right your friend shouldnt be a problem.. an for gods sake get a rpm activated switch lol

the car is running fine now those are old threads why would it matter if im using a button to activate the VVL its still the same as if it were to be directly connected it shouldnt make a difference

because a button is not nearly as accurate as a switch, what rpm are u pushing the button?

at 5200 im planning to get a rpm switch but my question was how is it possible for a redtop to beat me my friends say i should have beaten him like nothing my setup is the VE MAF and VE Ecu my friend said i should switch it to my stock maf and stock ECU since im using a button it wouldnt make a differnece and it would run better because he read some thread on here that said that

well dont listen to everything your friend says, if you have stock sr20ve cams (not sure if you do or not) then i would push that button at 4500-4800 rpms, also try bumping your timing up, i believe that the stock sr20ve timing is 5* try 15* also get some better exhaust, a small exhaust will just choke the VE, when i had my stock exhaust my car didnt feel much faster then a stock de..

dont switch ecus

really??? i didnt think that the exhaust would make much of a difference i have the DE performance headers with the downpipe but the cat and everything else is stock my friend said that has alot to do with it too

well if the stock exhaust was any good, we wouldnt have a reason to upgrade it... but anyone who wants to increase performance on even a stock se-r upgrades intake, header And exhaust.. there really no point in upgrading header if your not gonna upgrade exhaust..
