I love my VE's. But I don't think you can write off the DE completely.

My bro in law has a built DE and it runs just as strong as a mildly worked VE. Except is has more torque.

The other thing that is strange is that the VE's put out higher HP numbers on the dyno than a DE, but on the street a 150whp DE will be just as fast as a 175whp VE somehow. Maybe from 4th gear the VE will edge ahead. But other than that it is pretty equal. We've seen this quite often. Strange but true. Don't know why.

Something the US VE guys don't like doing, is skimming/shaving the head. We recently saw that a bone stock VE with 0.5mm off the head makes the exact same power as a bone stock VE with 16ve cams.

You guys are funny lol. I'm not saying the DE is better. I know the VE is, but a tuned out 10.1 DE "Ain't No Hoe" is all I'm saying vs a stock VE. There has already been a thread about this. If a stock VE is not tuned against a DE, the VE will not just walk away from it. You guys are trying to make it sound like bus lengths in here lol.

Why'd you quote my message there? Did you read it?

In fact I'm saying the DE is actually quite good as well.

I made a quote of the message to agree with you and yes I read it. I forgot to put the first part in bold. My reply was for other people.

First of all, let me address your screen name.

If you put a VE in a Micra, I hope you're not disappointed. Because if you are, you have mighty high expectations.

Secondly, I personally am on a SR16VE kick..maybe its because all of a sudden SR20VEs got cheap.

fully built DE can be as fast as a VE.
Just takes a ****load more money and work to do so.

yeah being that SOKO has VE's now for $800, how crazy is that, the only thing is it looks like the motor is pretty bare like no alternator or anything like that on it. Just the motor but still.

We are going to be picking one up off them in a week for a buddies car and everything i have gotten from them has been perfect, Ronald knows me by name, haha. I have probably gotten 8 or 9 motors from them for me and for friends cars. So im sure its in pretty good condition as always. Looks pretty clean from the pics.
