Strange "bearing" noise @ high rpm
Good Day,

Im heearing this very strange bearing noise at high rpm's. Sounds like if a power steering pump is going. What i did:

1. changed water pump - noise still there
2. changed power steering pump - noise still there.
3. changed belts - noise still there.

What else could i look at ? - Ac compressor ?.

do u hear it at a standing rev or driving.....try taking off the ac belt and see.... need a smaller belt for the alt. to work while testing or just a quick run without and see

the noise is only heard when you are at about 4000 rpm when driving and when engine is hot

Guys,

Everything in my car is good. Power steering fluid, water pump and power steering unit. Im gonna investigate the AC compressor later today.

My powersteering pump will whine at high rpms even with full fluid. I do suspect a leak over time.

Changed the power steering pump and the noise is still there.

I'm confident it's coming by ac pulley.
You can remove the belt and turn it by hand to see if it's making noise.

I have the same issue. Lately I seem not to notice.
I've over revved my engine several times and ac is still working.

what does this mean ? - Compressor needs changing?

Not compressor, the pulley only.
Thing is there are 2-3 different ones and I don't know if they are interchangeable.
Is it that annoying?
I was told you can open the pulley and replace the bearings inside. Unfortunately factory only sells whole unit, not service parts.
