Problems with stock coil???
I am usng the stock coil and distributor plus igniter on my VE from my 92 NX2K stock set-up and it seems like I am have issues with the system make enough power??? The battery light is coming one lightly and I am not sure if its because the connector doesn't connect to the coil properly or its just not enough??? Any suggestions anyone??

Also when my exhaust cam kicks in sometimes it goes in and out?

Do you think I need to upgrade my ignition or what?

thanks

you check your batt and alt? I have seen 500hp sr20 cars run stock ignition, its not needed to upgrade.

i dont think your charing problems have anything to do with your ignition system.. i couldnt imagine why the charge light would come on from a bad coil lol... double check your alternator connections an possibly have your alt tested..

Ok as soon as the connector on the coil comes loose, which it does the batter light comes on, but as soon as i push it back on the battery light is GONE! Explain that one???? If it has nothing to do with my ignition? One more thing my alt and battery are both brand new and have excellent grounds.

I don't think its the power, its the rev's!! My VE is hitting 8K plus while turbo cars usually max out at 75K, so maybe thats it???

There are plenty of VE cars revving over 8k,but you are he only one with a problem.
If you think it is related to the revs...maybe you have a loose or slipping alt belt .I have had a oil leak at the front seal that soaked the belt before that made the belt slip at high rpm.I changed the belt once to fix it temporarily, but had to do the seal soon after because it started slipping again.

Also unless the alt is a NEW OEM NISSAN....it is still suspect.
I have had to return a autoparts store alt before twice in the same day.

this is true, i've had to do the same thing also, remanufactured stuff SUCKS! always get NEW stuff.. but even then it can be subject to failure.. just cause somethings new doesnt mean theres nothin wrong with it..

thats really odd about when u move the plug the light comes on/off have you checked for any codes or anything?
