It would depend on the cam profile and ramp angle of the cam you are running. On N1 cams I would say yes, sr16's.....not as well.

The supertech h22 springs on ebay say 80# seat pressure

Supertech Valve Springs Retainers Honda Prelude H22 :eBay Motors (item 280302609775 end time Aug-12-09 17:44:19 PDT)

Edit: Didn't see that they made a VE specific spring

There are two seat pressures available from Supertech usually , the 83lb is for street/strip and then there is more of a "race" one which is 90lbs for the H22

so just following along.
supertechs are fine most affordable and the retainers aren't an nessary item. right?
joel maybe i will start playing with this car more. ha ha.
so stock retainers, n1 cams and supetechs will allow revs to 9k?

So basically it's the cam profile that determines if you need stiffer spring and not the rpms you are revving to correct?? For example one wouldn't need the 130# spring for a N1 cam even revving to 9500 but would need it for a Kelford race cam revving to the same rpm because of the aggressive lobe profile, do I understand that correctly??

But I understood the SR16 and N1 springs were just the same... So a SR16 cam on a SR16 spring should hold up to 8500 just fine, right?

the 2.0 springs would hold up better. the 16s are not as stiff

agreed, and yes, the sr16 cams should hold up to 8500 rpm's, I just wouldn't live there without some stiffer springs. sr20ve springs would probably be fine as they are slightly stiffer.
