Valve Springs
Anyone have any experience with Franklin's valve springs?? How do they compare with SuperTech & BC?? I'm not sure which ones to go with but I'm leaning towards the Supertech or Franklin simply because a local who was revving to 9200 with N1's floated a valve. Any thoughts on which ones would be the better of the 3 or would all of them float valves at that RPM?

Floated a valve on what...stock valve springs? BC will take 9K plus no problem, and Im sure a bunch of guys using them will chime in & say so.

Maybe 8500rpm, but why not just grab the super techs, BC's or whatever else is out there.

If your thinking of getting supertech they have 2 options. 100lbs or 130lbs on the seat. I dunno if the 130lb would rob any power if your car isn't built.

I believe I have the 100lbs in my car since I just have bolt ons and they seem to hold well.

YEP! I have hit 9k + a few times with no hick ups but my buddies car floated. So since I drive crazy and seem to hit 91-9500 sometimes I need some insurance. Plus I may end up with cams that make power at those rpms so I might as well do it the correct way

They are all good, price is the only thing separating them. I forgot which but either the Supertech or BC springs are larger in diameter than the stock retainer. They kind of bulge out.

I think you would be ok with the BC springs.I think if you get the spring get the retainers to so theres no problem with the spring bulging out. I know Id feel safer having all BC parts in my head

Ive used BC springs with stock retainers 9K redline on N1's with no problems. I know a friend locally revs his setup 9.5K with just BC valve springs & it sees that daily.

The BC springs still bulge out, even with the BC retainers.
