What to do with my VE and NX shell
Ok I picked up my other VE from a friend and he snapped the timing chain on it because a rocker pin came loose and made its way to the timing chain and broke it. No major damage was done because it was only at 1300rpms.

I will be getting another friends NX2000 shell on saturday it may or may not come with a JDM open diff trans because I dont know if I can make it into a LSD trans, and I realy want a lsd in the trans. Maybe someone on here knows if I can do that? This car will be a fun DD/drag car every now and then.

So should I just fix the VE and put it in completely stock or install my N1 cams and buy N1 pistons and a thicker head gasket? I already have a calum ecu to tune with.

The engine is like new inside and does not even have the trademark VE wear on the cams yet so I do not think it will need to be bored or honed for the new pistons. It will be $430 for new pistons rings and head gasket and $80 for the timing chain. I will still need to buy a rocker pin. So a little over $510. Suggestions please.

yeah man if your doing rings and a hone, chuck in some n1 pistons and waken that sucker up!
Two guys are running n1 pistons (not std 16ve) pistons in 20ve and they measured them at 12.5:1 CR.

Would I have to notch them for for more valve clearance? I know I need to notch them for the oil squirters. Is anything going to be out of ballance removing material like that? Even though the motor is almost new it would need to be honed again?
