Doesn't Outlaw make phenolic spacers for VE intake manifolds? I've read mixed reviews for them on VVL engines. Something about the space upsetting the manifold resonance. Not too sure about using it to do top-feed injectors though. Are top-feeds that much better? I think throwing in a rebuilt set of det 370s would be good for 99%+ of VVL users

I'm not 100% plugged into the VVL scene anymore but I figured I'd weigh in.

what about a plastic spacer in between the intake manifold and the head? my buddies with a dsm have them on his built 1g and this thing series looks/feels like it is helping keep the heat from moving from the head to the intake manifold.

I'm not a big fan of rebuilt injectors. I bought a new set of 83lb. top feed injectors for my Pulsar motor so I wanted to use them on my VVL setup. I might just use the Outlaw spacers along with some other mods to the manifold and they should fit. That should help with the heat and give more room to play with.

Well then buy some new ones. I've had good luck with rebuilt injectors.

Custom steel makes a top feed rail for VE motors. 83lb injectors would be overkill for any VE. You'd lose resolution and drivability. Did you mean 38lb? What brand injectors?

Not when your on boost.

Topfeed injectors are more commonly used in the upper levels of performance builds because they come in many different sizes, there more reliable/aren't as prone to leak and you also can use much larger fuel lines than with a side feed fuel rail. Not to mention that top feed injectors are a hell of a lot more cheaper than side feeds.

kevwal's 83lb (870cc's) injectors brand new and his own designed/made fuel rail including new fittings and fuel lines, is still cheaper than a set of new Nismo 740cc side feed injectors.

For the price of a set of 740cc side feeds, I got 83lb injectors, everything needed to make my own custom -8 fuel rail, thermo spacers, and money left to buy drinks for the shop . The rail is already made and mounted to the manifold. With some adjustments to the manifold everything fits perfect with the outlaw spacers. The injectors are Seimens 83lb. I will try to post some pics. For some reason I can never upload pics directly to this forum.

Kevin if you can please e-mail me some pics of this set up. I am using a ported N1 intake manifold on my build and I have been tossing the idea of running top feed injestors for some time now. My e-mail address is boyrican3@hotmail.com

Will you be tuning on E-85?
