i thought doctor G had ITB's so when hes been building it he would have had them apart ect.. so would explain why one came loose..

has anyone had one come loose on an un tamperd SR20 TB?

We are not talking about ITBs here.

We are talking about SR20VE TBs.

Start reading the thread over and you will see.

thast why i asked.. i thought G had itb's and that was this engine were refering to in the thread..


i didnt know that SR20's had a problem with dropping TB screws..

I recently swapped back the stock IM and TB. The TB was completely untouched, which is why I posted this up. Everyone, DE, VE, DET, VET whatever, you should all locktite those screws regardless.

what you done with the itb's if you dont mind me asking? any reason for the swap?

its not hard to read andreas the i think the wording is casuing some double negative type **** going on with the unnecessary and dont, if it was worded...how to cause your self a headache....

dont locktite screws on tb...then no one would be confused

I'm sure these TB screws will be retained from the factory to stop this happening, that is why they are so hard to remove as people have found out. Obviously it is sensible to check they are secure and perhaps reapply for peace of mind!

btw, I had an piece of ceramic turbine wheel go through a cylinder head once, man did that do some damage, scored the liners and all sorts. Good luck fixing yours.
