Doc, are you running a Cat? If so, that would be the last positive barrier to the screw before exiting the system. If you care to, have a gander there to see if it is stuck at the front ceramic matrix. You might find your culprit there.

^^ Lol no cat for me. Just hoping it passed through the mufflers and got sent to it's lonely grave next to the road somewhere.


Now, how many times can you re-use a metal VE headgasket? I'm contemplating Metal VE gasket (3 weeks shipping) or doing the external oil feed mod and using a normal DE gasket which is available locally.

I'm just not sure how I am going to tap/thread the block in order to plug that oil feed hole without getting shavings in the motor. The same goes for the oil feed hole where the oil pressure sensor goes. As I understand from my searching, the thread is not the same.

I wouldn't re-use the gasket. The sticky stuff won't seal very well the 2nd time around.
