Thanks for all the input. I'm buying a new oil pump asap and seeing what she will do. Hopefully I didn't cause any bearing damage, the humming noice Im guessing was metal on metal though .

lol, dude in my first se-r i owned i had a jdm motor in it that i put 40k miles of every weekend track abuse on, 400 drag passes on that motor easy, then i mis shifted from 7700 in 3rd into 2nd and stayed there for a second or two then put the clutch in, Engine died, i knew i broke rocker arms, So went home pulled the valve cover, and every single rocker except 1 had shattered and broke. I got a new set of rocker arms, put it in and started it right back up and put 15k more miles on it of every weekend track abuse and abuse on the street. No problems ever. Motor ran just as good as it did before, Oh and that was with jwt s3 cams in there as well.

The motors are tough and unless you dont change your oil when your supposed to they wont really have many problems ever. Neways im sure his motor will be fine. Its bad luck that the pump broke but it happens and ive seen it happen from overrev

yeah that was probably your valvetrain humming, Thats what it does with no oil pressure. But get a new pump and you will be good to go man. Guaranteed.

I used to have a JDM RR (side Feeds inj) and I would always rev it to 75k no problems at all. I accidentally downshifted from 5th to 2nd one time, and revved to 9k for a whole sec before I pressed the clutch in. It ran fine for a year after until I had some issues with the flywheel bolts comming loose.

These are tough motors,
they just don’t like being low in oil.

SR's are the truth, Ever since I got my VE with N1's for DD at least once on every trip I make it sees 8k, it's just inevitable, even to the grocery store for bread and milk LOL. Sometimes I think it's gonna blow, but the mothrfkr it's tough. By the way I'm in Afghanistan and I missing it

sorry for the super slow update. i forgot i made this thread. i fully tore down my ve, not a single sign of damage to the oil pump or any other part of the motor. valves seem good, cams are fine. bearings and cylinder walls look like the engine has 5k miles on it. rebuilding now into a overpowered monster and gonna make some 245s fit under it so i can go have some fun with my friend who is into doing redline timeattacks now. also going to be trying a lot of theoretical aero lol. should be fun.

Auto meter gauges are junk. I broke at 3 fuel pressure gauges. I honestly don't think I would buy another one.

Well I have a b15 tranny and shifted from 3rd at 9000rpm into second let the clitch all the way out while engaging full throttle so someone will have to do the math for me I'm not really sure what that would rev it to. Over 9k for sure though.
