If it is mild steel, it will rust if you do not coat it. The wrap will not rust stainless but Ive heard it will make some types of SS crack, but those were all wrapped turbo manifolds suporting 20lb turbos etc. I'll take a picture of it on the car later in the day so you can see how everything fits. A buddy of mine makes headers for the corvette guys so I asked him if he could make one for a fwd 4cyl. He said he could, so I gave him the car for a few days. I also told him he could take one of the fans off for more room (the one nearest to the altenator) and because it did not work any way. That was good for two reasons, 1 it made it easyer to fabricate and instal, and 2 the runners from the head dont have as extreem bends as one limited to space. The OD of the runners are 2", I think with the micrometer it was like 2.05x". The down pipe is 2.5" eventually mating to a 2.5" exhaust.

The point 5speed is making is that it's put on a public forum. There is nothing Mike K could do but bitch about it if someone used the same specs and made a header.

thing is if the header got taken to china, fabricated up with robic tig, made in 304 stainless etc and offered to forum members for about $200 i am sure people would buy it. Myself and i am sure many others on this forum have connections that can do this (i am pretty sure that is all that guy was going to do), but you just dont do it, the only way i would consider something like that would be if the original header designer got a cut from each header sold.

I would think that the design would cost them too much to redo for that price. And the fact that SR20 isn't even been made anymore and the even smaller market for FWD at that.
