vvl swap question
i feel like a n00b but i searched here and the old forum and nothing...

ok first off i got a 92 4dr e model and got the VE on the way. want to get all the necessary parts here before i do this swap. now will the starter that's coming with the VE work? (since its from an auto)

also can i use the harness off a 91 g20?

been lurking around reading a lot about this swap but most of you guys already have se-r's or whoever is doing a 1.6 to VE usually its somebody with a 200sx so really doesnt help much in terms of wiring.
Anyways thanks in advance, im sure i'll be bugging some more

The starter should work. The wiring will work with the motor but you need the US OBDI sensors to go along with it so it matches the ECU. I am not sure if the harness will mate to the chassis, maybe someone else could verify if it works. Make sure you get all of the mounts and axles as well.

I really don't think that the starter that comes with the VE will work. I could be wrong, but I remember looking at it and there is no way it will work, the CVT tranny is way different then our auto trannies. USDM 91-01 sr20 auto and 5spd starters will all work though.

you will need an sr20de distributor also.. what ecu are you planning to use?

i have some stuff you may need that i will let go for a reasonable price..
ecu
de starter
de ecu

i think the 91 g20's are obd1 arent they? an also i think they're high ports?? not sure on this as i havent owned or even looked at many g20s.. if im right then ya the wiring harness should work..
you also need sr20de fwd motor mounts.. not sure on which ones.. i may have some of those also..

you will also need a de flywheel, or atleast an aftermarket de flywheel..

thats all off the top of my head so i maybe forgetting some stuff..
